INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN FOR A 5 COURSE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
The purpose of this project was to ensure the lesson content applies to real-world usage through scenarios, case studies, and simulations. Previously, the only instructional materials used were the lesson notes and a few linked documents/websites, making the course content extremely text-heavy. During the revision, a variety of materials were incorporated into the lessons; this included web links to news articles, diagrams, blogs, videos, podcasts, etc. This variety helps meet the needs of diverse learners and assisting students to make connections between the content and the real world. The course originally focused mainly on learner-content interaction and lacked learner-learner and learner-instructor interaction. By incorporating all types of interaction, this now provides a richer learning experience.
